BLACK BOX THEATRE

On the drawing board are plans a small theatre which can house about 150-200 persons. The need for such a theatre has long been articulated by producers of Sinhala and Tamil performances who find it difficult to fill a large hall and who are also largely self-financed with little or no sponsorship.

The theatre space will also lend itself to flexible arrangements, experimental dramatisations and intimate performer-audience interaction. Available for both the performing arts and the visual arts, it will be a multi-purpose room which can be used for small exhibitions, book launches, lectures and other events.
